We practice engaged pedagogy, following bell hooks’ teaching: “the classroom remains the most radical space of possibility in the academy.”

We are driven by the fact that we can all benefit in a fairer world.

We believe that creating lasting, equitable impact in an ongoing process of continuous learning and adapting to the future.

We promote open-ended exploration as a form of empowerment, agency, and emancipation.

 Hello Departures* is above all a research experiment, and like any experiment, it will shift, evolve, pause, and morph into a new edition. The first edition happened in Arkansas. The second edition is now unfolding between Connecticut and New York City.
