Who we are

We are an award-winning interdisciplinary design advocacy agency where research and
activism converge with equity-centered design practices. We partner with forward-thinking institutions and organizations to co-create more sustainable, equitable and just futures that benefit all communities.

We practice engaged pedagogy, following bell hooks’ teaching: “the classroom remains the most radical space of possibility in the academy.”

We are driven by the fact that we can all benefit in a fairer world, and develop programs that seek collective liberation.

We believe that creating lasting, equitable impact in an ongoing process of continuous learning and adapting to the future.

Hello Departures* is above all a research experiment, and like any experiment, it will shift, evolve and transform itself.
